The fortune of crypto-billionaires decreased by 15 billion dollars

Not long ago Forbes published a list of the richest people in the crypto industry whose wealth exceeded one billion dollars. However, the current decline in the digital asset market has reduced the capital of all cryptoinvestors. The magazine calculated what the losses of the leaders of free finance are.

In total, all crypto-billionaires lost about $15.5 billion. Sam Bankman-Fried, who heads FTX, had the biggest decrease in fortune. He accounted for a third of all losses, reducing the CEO’s personal savings to $11.5 billion. Following him, with more modest losses, was the director of MicroStartegy, with a personal loss of about two billion dollars, which amounted to almost half of his capital. The rest did not exceed the amount of losses of one billion dollars, and Vitalik Buterin left the list of crypto-billionaires at all.

Despite this situation, the list of the richest people in the cryptocurrency industry still has more members than at the beginning of the year. It is also worth considering that Forbes used capital estimates in its calculations, which means that we can say that these are paper losses, and with the recovery of the digital asset market, which may happen in the foreseeable future, all losses will be fully recouped.
